[Johannesburg, 8 September 2006] – Softline Sage ERP Accpac 2005 business partner of the year, AccTech Systems, has successfully completed an Sage ERP Accpac general ledger (GL) implementation for Credit Guarantee Insurance Corporation.

“The General Ledger module is the foundation of Credit Guarantee’s accounting system and we were thus looking for a system that had the flexibility to meet our current, as well as future management requirements,” says Johan Schnetler, senior finance manager, Credit Guarantee.

“Sage ERP Accpac’s general ledger system was the only product that provided us with these requirements. It also met our cost expectations, and it was by far the best value for money.”

Morné Swanepoel, services director at AccTech Systems, says Credit Guarantee has been able to increase its processing and reporting times considerably since the general ledger implementation. “By utilising the exporting facility, a number of hard copy reports have been replaced by soft reports and distributed via the e-mail. This in itself saved the company considerably on the cost of stationery and increased productivity.”

“Sage ERP Accpac’s general ledger system offers features such as demand budgeting, forecasting and process requirements. The system is fully integrated with all other modules, which maximises efficiency and accuracy of the financial data,” says Tertius Zitzke, managing director, AccTech Systems.

AccTech Systems developed a seamless integration module that imports general ledger transactions from various in-house developed systems with the help of AccTech’s Middleware. The Middleware product scrutinises the information based on various business rules, then imports and posts the transactions immediately. This process eradicates unnecessary human intervention and ensures real-time reporting of the accounting system.

Schnetler says Credit Guarantee experienced excellent service from AccTech Systems. He says the process of installing, testing and implementing the product with the data conversion was well documented and managed. “The final sign-off’s proved that all areas had been addressed satisfactorily. The after-sales service is also of high quality and we deem this as one of the most important requirements when implementing any new system.”
